Located in West Cork, Gougane Barra is basically a little church situated in the middle of a lake, with a narrow walkway connecting it to the shore. Despite it's size and rural setting, it is one of the most photographed churches in Ireland. The lake in which it is located is the source of the river Lee, which flows through Cork, Ireland's second biggest city.
